Fundraising is just one way that parents and communities may choose to support their schools. Money raised is used during that school year so the people helping raise the money can see the benefits.

For the 2017-18 school year, money raised by the school council will be put toward the following:
  • Student field trip subsidy ($7340)
  • 20 Chromebooks and charging cart ($8000)
  • Outdoor Play Equipment ($3000)
  • Grade 6 and SK Celebrations ($1000)
  • Classroom Purchases ($1700)

The Very Merry Market
This is a event just in time for the winter holidays that helps bring the Maplehurst community together -- it's organized by school council and several parent volunteers. Parents help make the event a success by providing donations for the cake walk, silent auction, bake sale, jar room and kids shopping area. The event has several activities for the whole family including a magic show with Bumbling Bert, shopping for kids and grown ups, kids crafts and games, and a chance to visit with Santa. The Very Merry Market has something for everyone at Maplehurst.

Dance-a-thon
This is a fundraiser the kids go wild for in March. Recently the school council has brought in Professor Jamz for the event. His light show and cosmic store keep the kids moving during the dance-a-thon.
